Spanish
3T is the third
in a series of three courses aimed at
achieving language proficiency by shifting
the focus from the learning of language
per se to the learning of subject matter.
Students, while learning a subject matter,
acquire linguistic skills and
simultaneously develop learning
strategies. Topics are the
organizing principle for syllabus design
and are treated as points of departure to
learn a language. A
full description of this
course is available.
One of the goals
of this course is to move from description
and narration in the present and past on
topics related to the Spanish speaking
world to the description and narration of
the student's immediate and surrounding
environment.
Description
of the entire series.
Material
Reading materials for this course and the
rest of the sequence are selected from
high school textbooks used in Latin
America and Spain. They are supplemented
by articles from magazines and other
publications produced for native speakers
of Spanish. Audio-visual materials are
also from authentic sources.
