Spanish 1T is the first in a series of three courses aimed
at achieving language proficiency by shifting
the focus from the learning of language per se
to the learning of subject matter. Students,
while learning a subject matter, acquire
linguistic skills and simultaneously develop
learning strategies. Topics are the organizing
principle for syllabus design and are treated as
points of departure to learn a foreign language.

course is

One of the goals of
this course is to move from description and
narration in the present on topics related to
the Spanish speaking world to the description
and narration of the student's immediate and
surrounding environment.
